Ensemble Health Partners Lawsuit

Ensemble Health Partners Lawsuit

There were two instances of legal actions involving the company:

  • 2021 Consent Order with Texas Department of Insurance: In November 2021, Ensemble Health Partners, acting as a third-party billing agent for UT Health North Campus Tyler, entered into a consent order with the Texas Department of Insurance (DWC) to resolve an issue regarding improper billing practices. According to the consent order, UT Health North Campus Tyler had improperly pursued a private claim against an injured employee for a medical service covered by workers’ compensation insurance. Ensemble Health Partners, as the billing agent, had initially billed the employee for the service but subsequently ceased billing upon discovering the error.

  • 2023 Divestiture of Odeza Patient Engagement Business: In September 2023, Ensemble Health Partners announced the divestiture of its Odeza patient engagement business to TeleVox, a subsidiary of West Technology Group. The financial details of the transaction were not disclosed. This divestiture suggests a strategic shift in Ensemble Health Partners’ focus, potentially moving away from patient engagement solutions and concentrating on its core revenue cycle management services.

While these instances do not represent active lawsuits, they highlight the importance of compliance with regulations and the dynamic nature of business strategies in the healthcare industry. Ensemble Health Partners, like any company, should remain vigilant in adhering to applicable laws and adapt to evolving market conditions to maintain its reputation and success.
